Job Description
Responsibilities: To work at least 35 hours per week, share kitchen managerial, staff supervision & training duties with the other 2nd chefs so as to maximise kitchen performance and give full support to the head chefs in major decision making. To train and supervise subordinates including passing on skills, past experience and cooking methods to them. Main responsibilities also include cooking Chinese dishes of varying complexity, dealing with stock control, regularly checking staff performance, ensuring the kitchen's health and hygiene standards, making on the spot check of product quality, and holding regular meeting with the kitchen director to discuss staff performance and resolve problems encountered.
Requirements: Minimum three years post NVQ level 3 culinary competence working in a Chinese cuisines production environment, involving in application of complex cooking procedure and refine handling of ingredients in dish production, supervision and training experience for subordinates essential, also experience in resourse management and decision making on day to day basis.
Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 per annum
